IMG_2255Jenny offers: Reiki, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, Somatic Experiencing, and Mayan Teachings & Readings

Jenny graduated with a Masters degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2006. Since, she has served hundreds of children, teens, and families impacted by trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, etc.

As a part of her own personal journey, Jenny encountered the profound healing potential available in utilizing body-based modalities. It became quite clear to her that our bodies store stressful experiences, which manifest as symptoms of anxiety, trauma, chronic pain, etc. over time. In her desire to provide others with relief from overwhelming emotions and behaviors Jenny began seeking training in effective body-based techniques. Her approach is rooted in her knowledge of nervous system functioning, most notably the Poly-Vagal Theory. She believes in healing from the inside out and building capacity to manage stress while feeling safe and equipped with effective skills.

Jenny is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (2010) through Alignment Yoga. Her work supporting children, teens and families affected by trauma prompted further training as a Trauma Sensitive Yoga Teacher (2012) with Bessel van der Kolk and David Emerson.

Jenny is currently receiving extensive training to become a Somatic Experiencing practitioner. “I feel so intricately drawn to this powerful work as it feels like the culmination of all the psychological, biological, physiological, energetic, and spiritual elements I have found to be so pivotal in my work.”

The body oriented and energetic aspects of Jenny’s integrated approach are furthered by her experience as a Reiki Master and an avid student of shamanic healing techniques/ceremonies in various traditions.

In her free time Jenny enjoys cooking gluten & dairy free meals, hiking, dancing, yoga, traveling, and being in community with family and friends. Her greatest joy is spending time with her lovely husband and co-creator Will and their beautiful son.
